Building Audit (Class 2 to Class 9)

We are as experienced access consultants either working alone or as a member of a team, are able to perform inspections of existing buildings to assess the accessibility provisions.

The building inspections may be conducted at the request of the client for a wide range of purposes, such as providing an existing condition report prior to building upgrades. We are often engaged by and on behalf of potential building purchasers to provide these professional services. The assessments are undertaken by applying the current building codes and standards or time of the ‘as built’ legislation applicable. The access audit report or the existing condition report will provide a description of existing accessibility provisions, advice on compliance with existing legislation and usability by people with disabilities, and where necessary, provide suggestions and recommendations of corrective action.

The process we follow would involve communication and consultation with the building owners and facility managers on the interpretation and implementation of the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) and building legislation that are relevant to the audit subject.
